Havering Council has launched a new campaign, ploughing £40 million into improving the borough’s roads and pavements.
The investment will be used to resurface and repave the borough’s worst roads and pavements.
Over the next four years the Council will also be fixing hundreds of potholes, making residents' journeys better.
Pupils at Corbets Tey School, Upminster, received a surprise visit from two West Ham United football stars. First team players Adrian and Grady Diangana from the West Ham United Players Project dropped in as part of the partnership between Havering Council’s Veggie Run programme and West Ham United Foundation.
Havering Council’s ever popular Langtons Summer Concert will take place this year on Sunday 2 June.
The Westminster Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a selection of light classics flavoured with themes from cinema, West End musicals and popular television shows.
Tickets for the concert, sponsored by West and Coe Funeral Directors and supported by the Friends of Langtons Estate, will cost £4 on the day but can be purchased in advance online for £3. Admission is free for children under 10.
Gates open at 1pm on Sunday 2 June. Entrance will be via the gate in Keswick Avenue and the main gate on Billet Lane, Hornchurch. The concert begins at 3pm.

134 polling stations across Havering will be open until 10pm tonight (Thursday 23 May) for you to cast your vote to choose who will represent the London Region in the EU Parliament.

You don't need to bring your polling card with you in order to vote.
Results won't be declared until after 10pm on Sunday when the last of the polling stations across the 28 countries in the EU close their doors.

Massive Chuck Cyrus will be among the wrestlers appearing at this year's Havering show.
A professional for the last 11 years he can squat, bench press, and deadlift over 200 kgs.
"I'm confident in saying I'm the strongest, most jacked wrestler Rainham has ever seen and will ever see" said Chuck.
Catch Chuck performing his special wrestling moves including the "MASSIVE Bomb" and "Eye of the tricep" at the Havering Show on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August 2019.
Tickets are available now for the show which also features music from chart-topping groups like Toploader and Aswad performing on the main stage that is sponsored by London City Airport.

Friday 31 May will be "Love Your Market" day at Romford Market.
Grab all your usual bargains ranging from fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables to the latest in fashion, accessories and a great selection of plants for home and garden.
There will also be lots of live entertainment with stilt walkers, classic cars and scooters, street magic and free activities for children.
189 superheroes ran five kilometres through through Raphael Park in Romford last Sunday to raise more than £5,000 for local charity the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund.
The youngest entrant was just four and a half months old, whilst the most senior was 74.
Runners and the charity's Lenny the Lion mascot were joined by the new Mayor of Havering, Cllr Michael Deon Burton,who was the special guest of the day.

With around 3,000 people believed to have dementia in Havering, the borough is marking Dementia Awareness Week this week by continuing to raise awareness of the illness.
During Dementia Awareness Week, and shortly after, Havering Council has a number of events lined up to help raise awareness of people with dementia and their carers.
Can you provide a listening ear and a few hours each month to support a child or young person in care in the borough?
Havering Council is looking for Independent Visitors who can become regular befrienders by taking young people on trips, doing an activity together, or simply having a chat over a coffee.
