Deep Spring clean for Romford

Gum cleaning Romford 8 May

A programme of intensive deep cleaning of pavements, including the removal of chewing gum, is taking place in South Street, Romford.

This will run over the next four weeks, Sunday to Thursday, between 9pm and 5am.

This work is in addition to the investment of an extra £400,000 by the Council into more frequent residential street cleaning. It's being carried out by contractors on behalf of the Council.

The pavements in the town centre will be thoroughly washed and gum removed, as well as street benches cleaned to improve the look, feel and cleanliness of the area.
