Two local businesses have been awarded demolition contracts by joint venture partners, Havering Council and Wates Residential as part of the borough’s biggest regeneration project.
Solar, Serena and Sunrise Court, Hornchurch, and Napier and New Plymouth blocks in Rainham, will be demolished as part of the 12 estates joint venture project, which will see 3,000 high quality homes delivered for local people over the next 12 to 15 years.
Thirteen young people have been celebrating after graduating from a new Council-led project designed to help them develop their skills, obtain qualifications and pursue a career.
The Route2Success project was designed to support young people in care and care leavers who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in Havering.
 Havering Council's Cabinet
An extra £10 million has been set aside in the Council’s Housing budget (Housing Revenue Account) to improve council homes across the borough.
The plans were approved by Havering Council's Cabinet at a meeting earlier this month and agreed at the Full Council meeting yesterday (February 27).
The extra money will be spent on enhancing estate buildings and communal areas. The aim is to create an environment that our residents can be proud of and want to spend time in.
