Wednesday 19
September – Making Innovation Work for Small Businesses
Held
at Kingston Smith, Romford between 2 and 6pm.
In
this four-hour workshop
innovation is made simple, not dumbed down, helping participants to
realise a few quick and easy benefits.
Wednesday 3 October – How to get the rewards of going digital without the risk
Held
at Havering College, Hornchurch between 4 and 8pm.
Adopting digital technology can make a massive difference
to the way traditional businesses operate, getting rid of operational headaches
and opening the way to working with new customers. But too often the
technology vendors’ promises simply don’t materialise or the
need to change the way you work looks too intimidating.
Wednesday 10
October - Protecting your Innovation
Held at
Havering Town Hall, Romford between 4 and 8pm.
When
you invest in innovation you will want to make sure that YOU enjoy the gains
from it rather than your competitors. But how much of a risk is it?
It may surprise you that getting a patent sometimes makes your innovation less
rather than more secure, while doing early research yourself can make life a
lot easier downstream.
There's still time to have your say in Havering Council's budget consultation. It runs until 30 September 2018 and it's really important that the views of local businesses are included so that the Council's Cabinet has the full picture when they meet to make tough budget choices this Autumn.
A series of public meetings have been scheduled including one at Hornchurch Library this Friday afternoon from 1.30 - 3pm, one at the Town Hall In Romford on Friday night starting at 6.30pm, and the final one in Upminster at New Windmill Hall on Tuesday 25 September starting at 6.30pm.
You can fill-in the consultation form online or pick up a paper copy at any library or the Town Hall.
