Tomorrow (Saturday 30 June) is Armed Forces Day. A parade will begin at 10.30am in South Street Romford and finish at Tollgate House in Market Place.
Alongside the parade there will be a street party in the Market between 10am and 4pm with face-painting and a funfair.
Earlier this week our Mayor, Cllr Dilip Patel, joined children from Parklands Junior School, the Leader and Members of the Council in raising a flag outside the Town Hall in support of Armed Forces Day.
Residents are encouraged to have their say on proposals to transform New Road (the A1306) in South Hornchurch and Rainham.
A public consultation and exhibition is taking place over the next few weeks as Havering Council look to enhance New Road and make it a greener and more pleasant place, which will allow local residents and visitors to walk and cycle safely in the area.
Havering is bidding to be one of the new Logistics Hubs for Heathrow Airport.
The proposed location in Rainham is in the centre of the Riverside Opportunity area that stretches from Newham through to South Essex.
Havering's bid with partners SEGRO highlights Rainham’s unrivalled connectivity to Heathrow by rail, road, river and air.
