The
new Havering Carers Hub launched in High Street, Romford on Monday to provide
information and advice, emotional support, peer support, social activities and
training to carers.
The hub provides support to carers of adults with mental
health issues, dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and
frailty and runs as a drop-in shop from Monday – Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Thank you to everyone who has renewed their garden waste
collection subscription. If you haven't renewed yet, or wish to join the
scheme, click here or call 01708 431717.
This year we've introduced a sticker to be placed on the bins, so
if you've renewed but not received a sticker please contact us. Please attach
your sticker to the bin to ensure that your collection takes place .
We will stop collecting from bins not displaying a sticker from this Monday (18
June), and will place a note on the bin giving details of how to renew.
If you see the larvae or caterpillars of oak processionary moths on oak trees (as pictured above) don't touch as the tiny hairs on the caterpillars can cause skin and eye irritations, sore throats and breathing difficulties in people and animals.
If you spot such an infestation please email opm@forestry.gsi.gov.uk or call 0300 067
4442 with a precise description of the affected oak tree’s location.

Our local hospital trust, BHRUT, is holding its AGM on Wednesday 4 July.
Everyone is welcome to attend to hear about care in our local hospitals.and to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the opening of King George Hospital on its Barley Lane site.

It can only take a few hours a month to make a real difference to a
child or young person living in care. By becoming an independent
visitor you are volunteering your time to meet with a young person every two to
three weeks to provide an additional support system for them.
Help build their
confidence and listen to their thoughts and feelings over a coffee
or engage them to take part in fun activities.
Havering Council provides full training,
ongoing support and reimburses all expenses incurred as part of the role. Contact Alison Day
on 01708 434111 or alison.day2@havering.gov.uk for more
details.
