This Thursday (3 May) you can have your say on who represents you at a local level. Local government elections select councillors, who are responsible for making decisions on running services in Havering including housing, education, transport, planning, parks, leisure, social care and waste management.
For information on where to vote, and on all the candidates standing in your ward, visit the elections page of our website.
Earlier this month Havering Council launched the Veggie RUN app, England’s first council-created app supported by Change4Life to promote healthy eating to primary and junior school children.
The app has been designed in partnership with children from Engayne Primary School (pictured) and aims to address the rising obesity epidemic in the borough and highlight the health benefits of a healthy school catered lunch.
The Council and HES Catering Services will offer the best performing schools and pupils prizes this term ranging from new bikes from Cycles UK Romford, free lunches from sQuid, sports activities from Everyone Active, plus many more from Quorn.

The Havering Show is the borough’s biggest free event and takes place in Hornchurch over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday 26 and Monday 27 August 2018. This year, for our 40th anniversary, we're celebrating music from four decades.
Bands already confirmed include the legendary Heatwave, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Baby D and S Club Party.
