Private hire car image

Transport for London (TfL) has launched a consultation seeking views on how to improve safety for private hire passengers.

The 12-week consultation invites views on an advanced driving test for private hire drivers, providing passengers with clear information on who to contact to provide feedback or to raise a complaint, and whether more robust background checks could be introduced for drivers.

TfL is also seeking views on whether changes are needed to insurance arrangements for private hire services.

Congratulations

Kenny London Marathon 2018

Well done to Hornchurch resident Kenny Brown.

The former West Ham United defender and current Head of Coaching at Millwall Football Club, took on the Virgin Money London Marathon earlier this month to support  Revitalise - a national charity providing respite holidays for disabled people and carers - and Prostate Cancer UK.

“All the training did not prepare me though for the gruelling 26 miles ahead. So after 5 hours 29 minutes I crept over the finish line and into a hot bath, a beer and my bed!" said Kenny.

You can still support his effort by donating online.
