This week Havering Council announced Wates Residential as its £1 billion joint venture partner for London’s biggest social housing regeneration project.
The project will see 12 Council estates regenerated to provide around 3,112 homes in the borough over the next 12 years replacing the Council's current stock of 856 homes. By doubling the amount of affordable housing on the estates, much-needed affordable homes will be available for borough residents.

95
per cent of Havering primary pupils are now attending schools in the borough that are rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. This is above the national average of 90 per cent. This recent increase is directly linked to James Oglethrope
Primary school and Langtons Infant both being awarded a ‘Good’ Ofsted
rating.
The Havering Community Safety Partnership launched its survey on crime and disorder last month, to find out how residents feel about different types of crime across the borough.
The survey, which only takes around ten minutes to complete, will help to shape the work of the partnership which is made up of staff from Havering Council, the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, probation services, health services, and other organisations. It is open until this Friday 16 March.

Havering
has again offered a high percentage of parents their first
preference of secondary school, ranking us as the second highest in London.
Cllr Robert Benham, Cabinet Member for Children and Learning, said: “I’m
very proud to say that Havering has out-performed nearly every other London
borough and has offered 79.7 per cent of pupils their first preference school,
over ten per cent higher than the London average, with just over 94 per cent
being offered one of their top three preferences. The Council continues to
deliver high standards by working closely with parents and schools, and has
delivered additional school places.”

The delegation toured Havering with the Mayor, Cllr Linda Van den Hende, Cabinet Member Wendy Brice-Thompson and the Havering Dementia Alliance. They visited Romford Care Centre in Harold Hill and Saint Francis Hospice in Havering-atte-Bower to see how the borough has developed dementia friendly environments.

Child sexual exploitation (CSE) can sadly start at home via the child's
phone, tablet, computer or when they are out with friends.
In the lead up to National CSE day, we're
reminding all parents in the borough that they need to be having open and honest
conversations with their children about potential online dangers from viewing
inappropriate content, online grooming, dangers of sharing personal information
or photos. Help them to understand the dangers, know how to spot the signs and
what to do when something doesn’t feel right.
