Boost for business

Rail work TfL

Businesses in Havering are set to benefit from improved rail connections when new Elizabeth line services transform travel across London.

Services will be introduced in phases, with the central London stations opening in December 2018. Fifteen trains per hour will run through the new tunnels, increasing to 24 trains per hour through the central section of the line by May 2019.

From December 2019, customers from the three Elizabeth line stations in Havering (Harold Wood, Gidea Park and Romford) will be able to travel all the way through to the West End and Heathrow without needing to change on brand new, longer trains with walk-through air-conditioned carriages, live travel information and free Wi-Fi.

To prepare for the new services there will be a full line closure with no service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 February.
