
The Cocoon, a brand new place for children in care and care leavers opens next Tuesday 24 October,10am, at 38 High Street in Romford.
The new centre will offer a range of services part-funded by a £2.4 million grant from the Department of Education innovation fund. Anne Longfield, Children’s Commissioner for
England will be attending the launch event along with the Leader of the Council and Deputy Mayor.
The Cocoon
will enable young visitors to develop key life skills with access to training, receive additional
education support, learn how to cook and get help with housing and
health.
Transport
for London, in collaboration with the Police, is
running a campaign called ‘Report it to stop it’.
This campaign encourages anyone who has
experienced unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network to report it to
the police.
