After the success of last year when we saw record visitor numbers of around 50,000 last year, the 2017 Havering Show is shaping up to be even bigger.
Time 107.5 FM and West & Coe Funeral Directors, are the main sponsors for this year's show.
We’ve already confirmed some great acts for the Time 107.5 FM main stage, including: The Drifters, Blockheads, Kenny Thomas, The Dualers and Angie (I'm gonna getcha baby) Brown!
The Havering Show 2017 takes place at Harrow Lodge Park, Hornchurch on Sunday 27 August and Monday 28 August.

 Havering has a new Mayor following the Annual Council meeting on Wednesday 17 May.
Linda Van den Hende, (above left) who represents Upminster, was elected to be Mayor for 2017/18 having served the last year as Deputy Mayor to Councillor Philippa Crowder (pictured right).
She will be joined by her husband, Mr Laurence Chalk, as her consort for the year, and announced First Step as one of a number of charities she will be supporting over her term.

This national campaign highlights how fostering ‘Transforms Lives’ both for children in care and the families who support them.
Alison, a dedicated Havering foster carer will be taking over
the Havering Council Twitter account, https://twitter.com/LBofHavering
on Thursday 25 May from 12-2pm. She will be offering advice, guidance, and insight into
the rewards of fostering. You can chat with Alison, and learn how you can transform a
child’s life, communicate with children, understand how fostering works within your
family, and dispel some myths around fostering.

Young musicians
awarded
Havering Young Musician’s Festival 2017 took place on Saturday 13 May at the Salvation Army Hall. The concert was organised by Havering Music School and included a night of high quality solo pieces played by talented young people in the borough.
Former Mayor of Havering Councillor Crowder awarded Keenan Ngo (piano) as Havering Young Musician 2017 and Caitlin Chan (cello) as Havering Junior Musician 2017.
The competition was supported by the London Symphony Orchestra.
 The Council’s Children’s Service team have won a prestigious Mind Of My Own award for using innovative technology to help vulnerable young people communicate with their support services.

 The Council is contacting over 1,100 of the approximately 50,000 residents with Older People’s Freedom Passes asking them to confirm they still live in the borough and that they are still eligible for a Pass from Havering.
The Old Chapel in Upminster has a series of events open to the public this Spring.
