New Information hubWorking on behalf of Havering Council, Family Mosaic provide a free information and guidance service, Care Point, for residents in Havering. Our service provides free, confidential information to anyone over the age of 18 on your social care circumstances, wellbeing, benefits, transport options, housing and your rights as a carer. We’ll also help support you to find the services available in your area that may be able to support you. You can drop in and have a chat with one of our advisors at any one of our locations. You can find us in Romford Market, myplace Youth Centre or Holgate House, Romford. Or you can visit us at one of our drop-in’s across the borough. |

Advice opening times
Havering Citizens Advice Bureau in Victoria Road, Romford has changed its opening hours and services from Friday 1 April.
Hornchurch Library – Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 2pm
Harold Hill Library – Monday, 10am - 2pm
South Hornchurch Library – alternate Tuesdays, 10am - 2pm (please ring 01708 763531 to check service)
Orchard Village Estate Office – Monday, 10am - 2pm

Ipad for Beginners Classes
Ardleigh House offer a wide range of computer classes at Ardleigh House Community Association, 42 Ardleigh Green Road, Hornchurch, RM11 2LG, mainly for the older person. These classes run for 90 minutes each on Monday to Friday between 9am and 3pm. All classes are tutor led in a relaxing environment, there are no exams and no pressures, the classes are structured to instruct and yet be fun. The autumn term timetable can be seen here.

Adult Craft Workshop
Third Friday of every month, 1.30pm – 3.30pm at Elm Park Library, St Nicholas Avenue, Elm Park, RM12 4PT. A monthly session for crafters of all experience to join together to make something from a different theme each month. £6 for library members, £7.50 for non-members. Reserve your place by email.

Cycling taster days
Thames Chase Forest Centre, Pike Lane, Upminster, RM14 3NS.
Check here for details of cycling taster days for those who have not cycled for a while or would like to try cycling for the first time. Included in the cost will be tea or coffee and a piece of cake in our Forest Café. We have a wide variety of cycles, including trikes, come and have a go.
If you cannot make these dates but would like to try our cycles you can hire cycles at weekends and school holidays until Monday 31 October.

Tweedway 50+ Games and Social Club
Tweedway 50+ Games and Social Club meets alternate weeks on Tuesdays, 8pm - 10pm at Havering Road Methodist Church Hall, Moray Way, Rise Park, Romford, RM1 4YD.
New members welcome, £3 per session including tea/coffee and biscuits. Games played include darts, pool, Rummikub, snooker, Scrabble, table tennis, short mat bowls and various table games. Pre-booking is required by emailing Pete McEvoy.

Havering Council is offering your community group free publicity for its regular meetings, just complete the online form on Havering Council’s events web pages. There is no charge for this service.

Accessible allotments
Romford Smallholders Society, off Spring Gardens and Pretoria Road, Romford, now have four wheelchair accessible raised beds and two raised beds for disabled people who have difficulty bending. There are accessible toilets on site. A parking area is next to the raised beds. More information available here. |

Havering Over-50s Forum is a non-political organisation that offers a platform where the over 50s can find information and raise issues which are of concern to them. The Forum is open to Havering residents. The first monthly meeting is free, then £5 annually. Meetings are usually on the second Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Council Chamber, Havering Town Hall, Main Road, Romford, RM1 3BD. For more information email. |

The William and Jane Morris Fund (UK)
The William and Jane Morris Fund is open to applications from churches, chapels and other places of worship built before 1896.
The Fund offers grants of between £500 - £3,000 towards work concerned with the conservation of decorative features such as:

The Rank Foundation – Small Appeals Programme (UK)
UK registered charities and recognised churches which are raising money for capital projects (building work, refurbishment or the purchase of long-term equipment) or a one-off short term activity (such as an annual respite break or holiday for disadvantaged young people) can apply for funding through the Rank Foundation - Small Appeals programme.
To be eligible to apply the total project cost must be less than £1 million, the organisation must have an annual income of less than £500,000 and the organisation applying must already have raised a third of the total costs.

Funding for Christian Charities promoting social inclusion (UK)
The Anchor Foundation provides grants of between £500 and £10,000 per year to Christian Charities that encourage social inclusion through ministries of healing and the arts.
Funding can be awarded for up to three years. The Foundation will consider applications for either capital or revenue funding. Only in exceptional circumstances will grants be given for building work:
