Tweedway 50+ Games and Social Club
Tweedway 50+ Games and Social Club meets alternate weeks on Tuesdays at Havering Road Methodist Church Hall, Moray Way, Rise Park, Romford, RM1 4YD.
New members welcome, £3 per session including tea/coffee and biscuits. Games played include Darts, Pool, Rummikub, Snooker, Scrabble, Table Tennis, Short Mat Bowls and various Table Games. Pre-booking is required by emailing Pete McEvoy or call 01708 728448.

Havering Council is offering your community group free publicity for its regular meetings, just complete the online form on Havering Council’s events web pages. There is no charge for this service.

Accessible allotments
Romford Smallholders Society, off Spring Gardens and Pretoria Road, Romford, now have four wheelchair accessible raised beds and two raised beds for disabled people who have difficulty bending. There are accessible toilets on site. A parking area is next to the raised beds. More information available here. |

Havering Over-50s Forum is a non-political organisation that offers a platform where the over 50s can find information and raise issues which are of concern to them. The Forum is open to Havering residents. The first monthly meeting is free, then £5 annually. Meetings are usually on the second Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Council Chamber, Havering Town Hall, Main Road, Roford, RM1 3BD. If you're looking for funding for your organisation it may be worth checking out the following:
Grants for training
The Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), in partnership with the Small Charities Coalition, and GlobalGiving UK is managing the UK Government's Small Charities Fundraising Training Programme.
Charities with an annual income up to £1m can sign up for a range of training opportunities that will run from February to June 2016. These include:
- Face-to-face training
- Intensive one-to-one advice sessions
- Skilled volunteering matches
- Webinars.
These will cover topics including:
- Developing a fundraising strategy
- Fundraising from trusts and foundations
- Developing corporate relationships
- Crowdfunding.
