Please be aware of scam calls and messages

Some Camden residents have been receiving bogus phone calls claiming to represent our repair service and asking residents to share their personal information via WhatsApp.

These messages and calls are not from Camden Council – please do not share your details. We would never ask for your personal details like your date of birth or bank details.

If you receive an unexpected message or call claiming to be Camden Council, contact us to check if it is genuine:

• Speak to our repairs team through webchat at camden.gov.uk/housing-repairs and click on the blue speech bubble from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
• Contact your neighbourhood housing officer on 020 7974 4444 (option 5 then 5) or visit camden.gov.uk/your-neighbourhood-housing-officer
• Call the Camden Council Contact Centre on 020 7974 4444 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Our Housing Repairs WhatsApp number is 07360 277 909 – any caller providing a different number to this is not from Camden Council.

If you receive any suspicious messages or calls, please report them to the cybercrime organisation, Action Fraud, at actionfraud.police.uk

If you have received a WhatsApp, text message or phone call claiming to be Camden Council and have shared your personal details, report this to the police by phoning 101.
