We know that the current cost of living crisis is making it hard for people to pay bills, buy food and support their families in Camden. Many people do not receive all the benefits they should be getting and lose out on money. Good Work Camden is providing benefits advice and money support to residents across Camden. We want to support as many residents as possible to have the best chance to cope in this crisis and into the future.
Our support involves:
- Check if there are any benefits you could be receiving but are not yet getting
- Support you with a better-off calculation
- Help you to make a benefit claim
- Support with benefit appeal/review
- Advice if you have been overpaid on your benefits
- Check if you can receive a grant from the Cost-of-Living Fund
If you would like to speak to our benefit adviser, need help or want further information please contact your Job Hub Advisor, or contact us by phone on 0207 947 1666 or by email Jobhub@camden.gov.uk

Camden Apprenticeship Opportunities
Our service is for Camden residents, former Camden secondary school students or Camden care leavers are for all ages 16 and above.
Our apprenticeship vacancies
We have vacancies all year round – sometimes more, sometimes fewer, depending on employer demand. We have apprenticeships both in the Council and with external employers. Almost all the roles we advertise are ring fenced for our candidates, therefore there’s much less competition than if they were to apply for a job elsewhere.
What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships are paid jobs which also allow the employee to study towards a nationally recognised qualification. Many people prefer this option to college or university, as there are no tuition fees, you earn a salary and also end up with a lot of experience (that you wouldn’t get if studying alone).

All our vacancies are advertised here: www.camden.gov.uk/apprenticeships The team members can be reached via apprenticeships@camden.gov.uk or calling 02079748778

Back by popular demand, Camden and Google have renewed our scholarship programme to enable more residents to access four free programmes. Camden is the first council in the UK to join Google's Career Certificates programme, offering 500 exclusive licenses to Camden residents. The licenses will provide learners with job-ready skills within the tech and IT sector. Each programme is completely free of charge and can be completed within six months. There is no eligibility criteria, anyone can do it, anywhere, in their own time! Camden is currently running four programmes; IT support, data analytics, project management and UX design.
If you are interested in completing any of the following programmes, register your interest here and get a head start at achieving your career goals. Learners have already completed several programmes in under a three month period, don't miss out on your chance to be one!
"I think the Google Career Certificates are incredibly useful for anybody's future career as they are so cleverly made to cater for a myriad of needs and expectations: they are suitable for beginners, but also for people who are already working in the field but want a refresher and simply wish to find out more in order to keep up with current trends in the industry".

Our aim is that no child should go hungry, no parent should go hungry to feed their child, and no one should be left struggling and without anywhere to turn. As growing numbers of people need support to feed themselves and their families, we want to make it easier to get help, sharing where you can find food banks and other important information about the services that are offered. We know that there is a link between food poverty and employment pathways so we encourage all our residents in need of support to reach out to https://findfood.camden.gov.uk/ for support.
