What is an Apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship combines practical training in a paid job with at least 20% study time, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of subjects, and from levels 2 to 7. The level depends on the complexity of the role. We create apprenticeships both within Camden council and on behalf of local employers in a range of sectors.
The types of apprenticeship on offer depend on employer demand. Business administration apprenticeships are the most common, but we create other apprenticeships as well. Apprenticeships are available throughout the year, in accordance with the needs of our employers.
- Apprenticeships can offer flexible hours or be part time.
- The length of an apprenticeship varies according to both the level and the individual circumstances of the apprentice.
- Benefits of an apprenticeship
- A decent wage
- A recognised qualification
- Support on request throughout your contract
- Improved job prospects
Camden Apprenticeships is an award winning service that has created almost 900 apprenticeship vacancies since it was set up in 2010.
Who is our service for?
Our vacancies are for people aged 16+ who are Camden residents, former Camden secondary school students or Camden care leavers. We provide CV support, interview practice and are on hand to provide general advice and guidance throughout the entire process from applying to hopefully securing an apprenticeship. We also offer a free recruitment service to local employers and managers in the council who want to create apprenticeship vacancies.
Interested in finding out more? Register for our apprenticeship service.
