Rebel Business School

Camden Council has partnered with Rebel Business School to offer a free, 10 day online business course for aspiring entrepreneurs and residents with existing businesses. You will learn how to run a business without taking out loans or creating a formal business plan. The course is available online with limited in person places for Camden residents. Beyond Food
Beyond Food is providing residents with an opportunity to gain employment with The Felix Project Kitchen apprenticeship starting in January 2022. If you, or someone you know, are interested in beginning a career as a chef, this opportunity is for you! The Felix Project Kitchen training and work will take place in East London under their team of chefs.

Google Career Certificates
Back by popular demand, Camden and Google have renewed our scholarship programme to enable more residents to access four free programmes. Camden is the first council in the UK to join Google's Career Certificates programme, offering 500 exclusive licenses to Camden residents. The licenses will provide learners with job-ready skills within the tech and IT sector. Each programme is completely free of charge and can be completed within six months. There is no eligibility criteria, anyone can do it, anywhere, in their own time! Camden is currently running four programmes; IT support, data analytics, project management and UX design.
If you are interested in completing any of the following programmes, register your interest here and get a head start at achieving your career goals. The deadline for course completion is December 15th 2022. Learners have already completed several programmes in under a three month period, don't miss out on your chance to be one!

New City College Short Courses
If you're aged 19 and over and are looking for a job or further training to move to the next level of your career, New City College offers a range of short courses that will provide you with a qualification recognised by employers, free to those who are in receipt of benefits or on low incomes.
Training can be delivered to individuals or groups in the classroom, through an online / blended classroom model or via distance learning. Whether you are looking to work as a door supervisor, a cleaner or in a school, or need to gain basic employability and digital skills, New City College have a course for you. Qualifications with The Skills Network
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Environmental Sustainability - This course is designed to provide an overview of the principles of sustainable development, communities and energy management, and the social responsibility of businesses in relation to sustainability. Learners will also look at the principles of waste management and sustainable transport and applying sustainability in their own setting through zero waste.. Camden Council has partnered with LABS to provide free co-working spaces to residents in Camden in order to learn and grow with a community of businesses. It will provide inspiring workspaces for start-ups, SME's and established companies, networking opportunities, access LABS community via the app and workshops and socials. New Deal for Young People
The Mayor of London is providing grant funding across three programmes to build on the amazing work already happening across London providing personalised support to young people that need it the most.
We are launching funding opportunities for three programmes with a focus on mentoring:

Leaders:7-12 grants of between £100,000 and £500,000 to expand quality mentoring for young people and provide support to other organisations delivering mentoring
-
Headstart Action: 2 grants of up to £150,000 to support local organisations to deliver mentoring and youth social action, and provide employability training and work experience opportunities for young people across London
-
STEAM Mentoring*:5-10 grants of between £50,000 and £100,000 to expand quality STEAM mentoring for young people and to support STEAM employers who want to expand or introduce mentoring programmes.

We Make Camden toolkit
Camden Council has partnered with Camden Giving to offer funding and support to make local ideas come to life.
The “We Make Camden Kit” gives money and support to Camden residents and community groups who have great ideas for their communities. Residents and community groups can receive up to £1,500 to deliver ideas that contribute to four core themes, also known as Camden’s missions:

Food poverty and sustainability - encouraging experimentation, new partnerships, entrepreneurial activity and community-led activities responding to food poverty.

Diversity in positions of power – making leadership positions more accessible and inclusive to people from a wide range of backgrounds by removing traditional barriers to entry and to develop and promote modern and inclusive leadership spaces.

Health and sustainability of estates – creating neighbourhoods and living spaces that people love to live in.

Opportunities for young people – helping young people explore their interests, express creatively, and be safe to experiment and try out things so that they can make well-informed choices about their future.
Residents can also receive support with insurance, safeguarding and connections to make their ideas a success. Decisions on who receives funding and support are made by a panel of Camden residents from across the borough. Shared Lives Camden
Shared Lives Camden is offering the opportunity to become a paid carer through a Shared Lives placement.
Earn between £433 and £524 each week by sharing your home and supporting adults with care needs, this includes short stays and long term arrangements. You don't need any formal qualifications or experience as extensive training will be provided. You will undergo an assessment process to be matched with the the person you will support carefully.
Shared Lives Camden are now also able to assess potential carers who do not have a spare room, and can set them up with a 2 bed flat to start their shared lives journey. For more information, visit the website here.
