The Digital Storytelling Trail is Now LIVE!

TheĀ Pen to Print Digital Storytelling Trail is an ongoing project to record and share stories about Barking and Dagenham.
Using new technology to help read, watch or listen to stories new and old. You can add your memories and creations, send us photos, drawings, audio recordings, video, poems and stories fact or fiction about anywhere in Barking and Dagenham and add to the trails now! We will be adding a Becontree Estate Trail and a Trewern/Hay Trail soon.

A series of Womenās Wellbeing Writing Retreat Workshops led by creative writing and acting tutor Serena B. SlackāRobins that can be experienced in their entirety or as individual workshops.
The aim of these workshops is to equip participants with skills to manage stress, anxiety and low mental health and participants will leave each session with a sense of joy, friendship and a range of skills that they can try at home.

Led by local author Farzana Hakim, this workshop invites women and anyone who identifies as a woman into a creative space where the body becomes the starting point for storytelling.
Exploring the idea of the womanās body as the mother of all stories, the session delves into the experiences that shape womenās lives, including menopause, health challenges, pain, and the often unspoken truths that many women hold within themselves.

Led by poet, author and Write On! editor Madeleine F White, this special pre-launch event will feature readings from the forthcoming Maiden, Mother, Crone: The Anthology, alongside contributions from a small number of open-mic creatives.
This is a space to listen, to speak, and to be together with others who care about words and the lives behind them. Whether you come to read, to share, or simply to hear the work aloud, the afternoon offers a chance to honour womenās experience in all its stages and forms.

This session will include a range of engaging poetry prompts inspired by the themes of light and dark and the arrival of spring. Participants will be guided through creative writing starters, draw inspiration from existing poetry, and explore imagery such as spring flowers and seasonal change.
There will be time to write, reflect, and share work in a supportive environment, with opportunities to receive positive and constructive feedback. By the end of the session, attendees will have drafted new poems and gained fresh ideas to continue their writing beyond the workshop.
