Creche helpers required for postnatal depression support group in Streatham
The Cedar House Support Group is for women who are experiencing postnatal depression. The groups provide a safe and supportive environment where mothers can get together with others who may be feeling similar to themselves. This helps their recovery by normalising feelings and reducing the sense of isolation that postnatal depression can bring.
To enable these sessions, Cedar House provides creche facilities and is looking for for someone who has experience in looking after young children to help the creche manager. Starting in March every other Friday term time from 10am to midday, at St Stephens Centre, Weir Road.
If you would like to help, please get in touch with Liz Wise.

Hope for the Young are Looking for Refugee and Asylum Seeker Mentors
Hope for the Young Mentoring Programme trains volunteer mentors to provide weekly one-to-one support and advice to young refugees and asylum-seekers in line with their goals and aspirations.
Due to the complex social, psychological, and practical challenges many young people face when trying to settle into their new communities, our holistic and youth-focused mentoring approach enables young people to develop the independence skills, support networks, and confidence they need to achieve their full potential.
By becoming a mentor with Hope for the Young, you will have the opportunity to transform a young person’s life in your local community. Our mentors work with their mentees each week to improve their English, enrol in education, access local services and activities, make new friends, and build the confidence and independence skills they need to settle into their new communities and reach their true potential.
If you are passionate about supporting young refugees to rebuild their lives in the UK and think you have what it takes to join the dedicated team of mentors at Hope for the Young, they would love to hear from you!

Lambeth’s Civic Awards are the borough’s way of sharing and recognising the great work our residents, volunteers, voluntary sector organisations and communities do to continue this rich history.
The Volunteer of the Year Award is to celebrate and recognise the amazing and much-valued work done by volunteers in Lambeth.

Volunteers play a crucial role in building vibrant, supportive communities, which aligns with the ambition to create neighbourhoods where people can lead healthier, happier lives.
This award shows appreciation to an individual who has selflessly contributed to making a positive difference in their community.
