Join local author Naomi Clifford for a conversation about her new historical novel, 13 Park Lane, hosted by Karen Robinson, creator and former editor of The Times’ Crime Club.
The central event of the book is based on a true crime and features the third Earl of Lucan and a notorious Metropolitan Police detective who lived for many years in South Lambeth Road.

On the evening of 21st November 1974, bombs, planted by the IRA in two crowded Birmingham pubs exploded, killing 21 people and injuring at least 170. Within a day of the explosion, six men were arrested and charged. All were found guilty. Now, 50 years on from the Birmingham Bombings and with new writing from Mullin, this classic edition of Error of Judgement tells the complete story of one of the most significant miscarriages of justice ever. Event organised by the Friends of Durning Library.

Join Xiaolu to discuss her work over the past decade and in particular her biographical trilogy which concluded with her recent book, My Battle of Hastings. She is a novelist, memoirist and cineaste - directing many award winning films. Xiaolu is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.

Brixton Library is extremely proud to announce an exhibition of sixteen special edition prints by Sir Frank Bowling, OBE RA, one of Britain’s foremost contemporary abstract artists, best known for his paintings which can be seen in museum collections all over the world.
Sir Frank Bowling and DACS – the Design and Artists Copyright Society – began their collaboration with art publishers King & McGaw in 2021. The result is a collection of sixteen giclée prints of Bowling’s masterful paintings ranging from 1968 to 2020. The collection includes Bowling’s ‘map paintings’ that trace and layer stencils of countries and continents, and ‘pour paintings’ where acrylic paint is poured directly onto the canvas.

Clive Jackson studied Fine Art at Birmingham Polytechnic and now lives and work in London. The works in this exhibition developed from a series of mobiles which, when hung in the studio, worked well with the canvases on the walls. Since then, Jackson started including monotype and collage.

To help you celebrate yourself and your futures. This workshop will enable you to showcase your skills and talents to get the attention of your audiences. You will be taught: How to choose a career path, How to sell yourself, Interview skills, How to search for jobs, What paths are available to create income opportunities and how to set yourself up and How to create a CV.
