ELEVATE Lambeth schools newsletter

How can we support your school to access creative opportunities in the borough?

We're running a short survey to help us understand the challenges and opportunities of ensuring your students have equitable access to creative activities, artists and venues.

From Streatham to the Southbank, Lambeth is the home of world class creativity and innovation, and we want to support your school to access the incredible opportunities in our borough.

Your input will feed into the Council’s new Creative Strategy that will include commitments around school engagement.

To say thank you, everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to receive up to 30 x tickets for Matilda for your school.

This survey is aimed at Headteachers in Lambeth, but please also share with teachers who lead on accessing creative opportunities for your school. Deadline 27 September.

Use the link below for the online form for the survey:

Online Teachers' Twilight: Haegue Yang

The Schools Team at the Southbank Centre would like to invite you to our Online Teachers’ Twilight event next week on Wednesday 25 September 4.00 - 5.30pm via Zoom, to introduce to you our upcoming exhibition Haegue Yang: Leap Year.

Haegue Yang: Leap Year (9 Oct 2024 – 5 Jan 2025) will be Haegue Yang’s first major survey exhibition in the UK. It presents a comprehensive study of Yang’s work from the early 2000s to today, highlighting how her artworks resonate on a personal and sensory level while also speaking to social, political and spiritual ideas.

Please join us for an informative and interactive session about the exhibition, where we will be showcasing our plans for the schools programme, how to sign up to our projects, and details of our educational resources. There will also be an interactive activity with artist educator Phillipa Ellis, to help you explore the artist work and key themes from the exhibition in your classrooms. You will also have the opportunity to hear directly from our curatorial team, who will give a deeper insight into the exhibition content and be able to answer any questions you may have.

You can book a place using the link below or feel free to get in touch with the Schools team schools@southbankcentre.co.uk if you have any questions.
