One-to-one Befrienders at Centre 70
Centre 70 is an Advice and Counselling service that has been at the heart of West Norwood since 1970. They are offering one-to-one befriending for local people as part of their new Wellbeing Service, this is a face to face service which aims to connect people together with their community.
Would you like to volunteer at Centre 70 and one of their local Community Befrienders?
Meet up with someone in the local community who is feeling lonely or isolated once a week for a couple of hours, spend some time with the person to get to know each other while going for a walk or visiting a cafe... Listen, chat and share stories. You could even try a new activity together! This is great opportunity to meet new people and learn from each other by sharing experiences and feel more connected to the local community. Training and ongoing support provided.

Coram Beanstalk Trained Reading Helpers
Coram Beanstalk creates readers because when a child becomes a reader, they get the very best chance in life, and every child deserves that.
Coram Beanstalk believes that life is better when everyone can read well and express themselves with confidence. That's why they recruit, train and support volunteers to work with primary aged children to help them find a love of reading.
Coram's volunteers work one-to-one with children who would benefit from dedicated time with an adult who can help them with their reading and communication skills. If you choose to volunteer as a Trained Reading Helper, You will be working in a local primary school two afternoons a week.
Coram Beanstalk provides training and support throughout your role as a volunteer.

Just Like Us - Recruiting LGBT+ Volunteers 18-25
Just Like Us is the LGBT+ young people’s charity. Just Like Us work with schools and young people to ensure LGBT+ young people can thrive. Currently, LGBT+ school pupils are twice as likely to be bullied and struggle with mental health – as ambassadors you can help us change this.
If you’re LGBT+, age 18-25 and living in the UK, you can volunteer on their Ambassador Programme. Use your voice, develop skills and find community.

Vision Foundation is looking for volunteer warehouse assistants
Vision Foundation, London’s leading sight loss charity, supports the city's best projects for blind and partially sighted individuals. They are currently seeking volunteers, particularly Warehouse Assistants, at their Donations and Online Sales Hub in West Norwood.
Volunteers will be responsible for quality-checking items for sale in their shops and on eBay, ranging from trendy fashion pieces to rare vintage items. The role involves making decisions on pricing and quality, with no two days being the same.

I have received great training and have gained valuable practical skills as well as learning about retail operations and warehouse logistics.
