 Dear resident,
We're excited to announce that major restoration work at Brockwell Park will commence next week. The primary goal of these efforts is to level the ground and sow grass seed over the barer areas, enhancing the park's beauty and usability for everyone.
What to expect:
-
Ground levelling and seeding: We'll be filling all the deep holes and ruts, harrowing the bare areas several times, and levelling the ground before over-seeding.
-
Equipment removal: The remaining pieces of event equipment will be removed first on Monday.
-
Completion timeline: We expect all works to be complete by the end of the week, allowing the fenced areas to be opened back up for public use.
-
Fenced areas: A few smaller areas may remain fenced to give the grass seed the best chance of germinating undisturbed.
Future works
In the autumn, we will undertake additional works and more seeding as needed to enhance the area. The whole area will be reviewed, verti-draining and over-seeding as required. The football pitch will receive the same ground treatment but with a different seed mix better suited to sports pitches.
Biodiversity boost
As a nod to biodiversity, a small amount of white clover will be added to the seed mix. This will not only enhance the park's greenery but also fix some nitrogen in the soil, improving grass growth.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this restoration period. These improvements will ensure Brockwell Park remains a beautiful and vibrant space for all to enjoy. Stay tuned for updates and enjoy the newly restored areas once the work is complete!
Thank you
