For LGBT+ people, the places we remember as significant in our lives helped shape who we are and how we relate to the world. Join editor Jeffrey Doorn and contributing authors to discuss the LGBT+ anthology of stories & poems, Lost Places as well as the significant places in all our lives.

In the late 1980s local resident Ian Smith left Lambeth Libraries for Zanzibar, to run the recently started public library on the island. It was a magical and entertaining two years in the days before any kind of organised tourism. No phones, no internet, a different world. Join him to discuss his experiences.

Join Lambeth Libraries LGBTQ+ Reading Group to discuss the Classic LGBTQ+ title Maurice by E M Forster. An astonishingly frank and deeply autobiographical account of homosexual relationships in an era when love between men was not only stigmatised, but also illegal.

Another chance to catch the Vardo and Mapping the Histories of London’s Travellers exhibition celebrating Gypsy, Roma Traveller Communities at Carnegie Library. Exhibition includes stories, articles, interactive online maps and QR codes with audio shared by people with lived experience, and a real life vardo!

Lambeth Links, independent local LGBTQ+ forum and charity are celebrating LGBT+ history month with an Art Exhibition and events for artists.
Following last year's successful display of a variety of work from 23 artists from across the LGBTQI communities. This year there will be even more opportunity to meet the artists and engage with the art on display, you will be able to vote for your favourite and many of the pieces will be for sale at the end of the exhibition. |

Mental Health issues have increased dramatically for children since 2020. Libraries have lots of books and resources that can help. During Children's Mental Health week our libraries will be showcasing some of the great books that can really make a difference. Do pop in and have a look.
