Getting Involved Grants
We have updated and reissued our Getting Involved Grants guidance and invite you to apply online for funding activities on your estate or in your community.
Some of the key changes in the new guidance are:
- Grants of £751 to £3,500 will be decided by our GIG Panel made up of residents and officers
- Grants of £3,501 and above will be decided by Neighbourhood Working Engagement Coordinators
- Grants of £5,000 and above will prompt a procurement process
- We will not fund activities outside of the borough
We encourage applications for amounts up to £3,500. Larger grants may take longer to consider and decide. We will consider grants for partial or match funding.

Committee training
Thanks to all those who attended the training programme this year. We are working on making next year’s training more inclusive and aim to focus on areas identified by TRAs and other engagement groups.
We are keen to know about any additional training requirements that would benefit your group and help it run more efficiently.
If you are a Lambeth Council Housing resident and interested in attending training please email us at gettinginvolved@lambeth.gov.uk or contact your Resident Participation Officer.
Youth and Young Adult Engagement
Jerome Martello is the new Youth and Young Adult Engagement Coordinator and he would like to meet young people in the borough who would like to share their thoughts.
Jerome was born and raised in Lambeth and is passionate about positive community impact. He would love to make connections with the local community and work in partnership to understand and identify any gaps in service provision for people who are 16+. And in particular, connecting with young residents from Central Hill, Tulse Hill, Brixton, Streatham, Clapham and Kennington.
If you would like further information on how to get involved or you have a person in your family who you believe would be interested, please contact Jerome by email jmartello1@lambeth.gov.uk

Community events in September and October
Community groups and TRA’s took advantage of the late summer to hold community events, consultation and more. Working in partnership with Lambeth Housing Resident Engagement Team, contractors, local suppliers, stakeholders and many more to host a series of late summer events across Lambeth Housing Neighbourhoods.
Events were held at: Sackville Estate, Central Hill Estate, and Fern Lodge Estate with a Youth event at Rathbone Youth Centre.
The Rathbone Youth event was a collaborative exercise aimed at getting young people’s thoughts on the £150,000 estate Tower Hamlets Environmental Trust funding. It was well attended by 35 young people whose views will be taken into consideration as part of the consultation.
Fern Lodge community hall refurbishment
Fern Lodge Hall was refurbished in partnership with T Brown as part of a social value initiative. Richard Malaure from the Fern Lodge TRA was one of the residents who took part in the community volunteer days. The project is now completed, and residents are invited to a party on Wednesday 6 December from 3pm to 6pm.
Join the Lambeth 500
The Lambeth 500 is an consultative group open for any resident who receives services from Lambeth Housing to join. Help shape the future of housing services in the borough if you are willing to provide feedback on service delivery, contribute to improvements, test new initiatives, or review policies and procedures.
