Come and join Councillor Chowdhury, St Mathews TRA and Lambeth Tree Service to the launch of Lambeth’s Urban Forest Strategy and the Borough wide tree planting programme at Rush Common on Saturday 25 November at 2:30pm.
SMETRA will be marking the beginning of National Tree Week with the completion of the Rush Common Woodland Walk signage, the planting of 2 new trees and Lambeth will also launch the boroughs new Urban Forest Strategy that will see over 5000 trees planted over the next 3 years across many different locations across the borough.
There will be guided walks to help you learn about and appreciate the beautiful trees on Rush Common, along with a spot the leaf activity for children and adults. So come along to celebrate trees, bring your children, parents, friends. Meet your neighbours and let’s have some fun. Dress for the weather and wear green and leafy clothes if you would like. We are all hoping for winter sunshine, however, we will carry on, with umbrellas and wellies, if it rains. The event would be deferred however, if there are high winds, storms, or other extreme weather on the day.
Thanks to SMETRA and Lambeth Council for hosting. We are all grateful for funding received over to improve the environment here to the Mayor of London, London Marathon Community Trust, and the Department of Levelling Up.
Meet opposite Lambeth College, Brixton Hill, SW2 1QS and near the very popular playground.
