Tree Planting Programme
We have a new programme to plant 5000 trees across the borough in the next 3 years. These trees will also receive summer watering for 3 years to ensure their health and survival.
Many of the trees will be planted kerbside and in parks, and some will be planted on estates. Trees on estate will bring the following benefits now and for future generations.
- Cleaner air to breathe- trees filter out pollution.
- Cooler estates in very hot weather – provided shade and freshwater vapour.
- Have wellbeing benefits – living near trees has been shown to reduce stress and speed up healing.
- Reduce risk of flooding.
- Provide a home for nature in the city.
- Calmer estates – trees absorb noise.
The tree planting programme on estates invites residents to get involved with caring for the trees through watering. We are also able to plant fruit trees and small orchards. If you are interested in seeing this on your estates, please email pgeorge1@lambeth.gov.uk

Youth and Young Adult Engagement
Jerome Martello is the new Youth and Young Adult Engagement Coordinator and he wants to meet young people in the borough who have thoughts to share.
Jerome was born and raised in Lambeth and is passionate about positive community impact. He would love to make connections with the local community and work in partnership to understand and identify any gaps in service provision for people who are 16+. And in particular, connecting with young residents from Central Hill, Tulse Hill, Brixton, Streatham, Clapham and Kennington.
If you would like further information on how to get involved or you have a person in your family who you believe would be interested, please contact Jerome by email jmartello1@lambeth.gov.uk
Join the Lambeth 500
The Lambeth 500 is an consultative group open for any resident who receives services from Lambeth Housing to join. Help shape the future of housing services in the borough if you are willing to provide feedback on service delivery, contribute to improvements, test new initiatives, or review policies and procedures. Membership is flexible – you can participate as much or as little as you want, on one particular issue or on many, and you can leave at any time.
