Hello,
This week, we are celebrating National Apprenticeships Week. Over the last year, more than 1,500 residents have gone into apprenticeships across the borough with the support of Lambeth Council.
In addition to creating apprenticeships in the Council, we have been able to support such fantastic uptake by working closely with our partners including London South Bank University, Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital and Kings College Hospital Trust, Spiral Skills, LDN Apprenticeships, G Network, and Wates. And we have been able to identify opportunities for local people in the low carbon economy, creative and digital, and health and life sciences.
Our ambition is to make Lambeth the best place to grow up and creating new apprenticeship opportunities plays an essential role in achieving that. Apprenticeships are a fantastic way for people to find their feet in new jobs or starting their careers, benefitting from on-the-job training and practical experience while also being paid.

Lambeth Council sets out its priorities for children and young people
As part of our commitment to be a child friendly borough, we’ve announced our priorities for children and young people. We consulted with over 1,500 children and young people, over six months to find out what matters most to them and to help shape the priorities, which are Safety and Security, Place and Child Friendly Services. We’re also working towards becoming recognised as a UNICEF UK Child Friendly Community.
