New year, new hope for the future!

We've seen record temperatures across Europe this winter and the energy crisis is biting harder. We know the climate crisis is already here, but the future can be brighter and better if we take action now.

It's a new year and a chance to set goals to improve the health and wellbeing of ourselves, our communities and our planet.

Let's reimagine our car parking spaces!

kerbside

Did you know that kerbside space in Lambeth is equivalent to 194 football pitches?

94% of this space is taken up by motor vehicles, yet Lambeth has one of the lowest car ownership rates in London.

Our new Kerbside Strategy aims to reclaim 25% of kerbside space for active travel, socialising, business activity and climate resilience measures.

We've been working with tech team Fast Familiar to develop an immersive experience where residents hear from actors from the future and discuss different policy options to tackle climate change.

Everyone taking part will help us understand the best options to take forward in Lambeth - as well as getting a £20 voucher for your time.

Our first session at St Paul's Church was a real hit. We're hosting more across the borough in partnership with the Healthy Living Platform, KCL and the Start-up Recovery School. Get in touch with sustainability@lambeth.gov.uk if you're interested in taking part.
