Library manager Zoey Dixon awarded MBE
Congratulations to Lambeth Council's Zoey Dixon, who works as a Library Hubs Manager and has been awarded an MBE – a Medal of the Order of the British Empire – in the New Year Honours list. Zoey Dixon has been a leading light in making libraries more accessible, both before and during Covid-19, in her development role at Lambeth Libraries. She has been a champion for diversity and inclusion, both within the borough and beyond.

LGBTQ+ staff forum host trans and non-binary listening session
The trans and non-binary listening session is a safe space to ensure that all voices are heard and represented. Helping those in need
Congratulations to Waterloo Food Bank who have managed to raise their target of £15,000 over Christmas, with £5,000 pledged by Lambeth via our crowdfunding scheme. The amount was used to provide 800 Christmas food and gift hampers to our local community this year with the help of The Trussell Trust's food banks in Lambeth.
Do you use a locker?
If you use a locker in the Civic Centre or Town Hall and you wish to keep using it, you must complete the locker survey by Friday 24 January. After this date any locker that has not been claimed by a member of staff will be opened, emptied, and reallocated to a new user.
Our DIY help desk system is changing
The ITSM project team are leading on the replacement of the existing LANDesk DIY system, with a new, more efficient, and transparent Service Desk System called Hornbill. This is a modern digital IT Service Management (ITSM) application that will vastly improve and simplify how corporate services such as IT, HR and FM are delivered to you.

Strike update
Ambulance drivers are due to strike this Wednesday (11 January) and 23 January, while The Royal College of Nurses (RCN) have announced further strikes on 18 and 19 January. Bus drivers in south London continue their strikes throughout the month you can view information on the TFL website.
Time to Talk Day - save the date
Time to Talk Day returns in February. At Lambeth we want to ensure we create a safe space for staff to talk about mental health and will be marking the day with a number of events on Thursday 2 February, as well as in the lead up to and after this day. More information is to come, please keep an eye on Lamnet for updates.
FoIs regarding sensitive data
A number of FoI requests received by the council which ask for information relating to payments, contractor invoices and contracts should be withheld as they are commercially sensitive or 'confidential'. In order for us to withhold such information, the council must be able to demonstrate that we have properly considered the harm in disclosure, and carry out a Public Interest Test. Lambeth 2023 Holocaust Memorial Day event
Lambeth will be marking Holocaust Memorial Day with a programme that includes keynote speaker Joan Salter MBE, a Holocaust survivor, as well as readings and musical contributions from local school children and a welcome address by Cllr Claire Holland, Leader of Lambeth Council. The event takes place between 3pm and 4.30pm in the Lambeth Assembly Hall. When: 22 January.
Time to walk… for mental health
Lambeth Great Mental Health Day is back for its second year on Friday, 27 January and Lambeth will once again be holding a community walk through the borough to mark the day. Meet at Kennington Station at 11am and take in the sights of the borough with free activities along the way, including art, music wellbeing advice and dance. Booking and information via Eventbrite.

Have your say on health and care
The Public Forum is an open space for people to share their views and help improve health and care in Lambeth. There’s no agenda and people do not need to sign up to participate. This is followed by the Board meeting which takes place in public from 2pm-4.30pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend to observe the Board discussions. When: Wednesday 11 January, 1-2pm. Body Shop at the Civic Centre

Free health and wellbeing advice
The Health and Wellbeing Bus provides access to free wellbeing information as well as blood pressure checks, mental wellbeing advice and flu and Covid vaccinations. You don’t need to book an appointment to visit the Health and Wellbeing Bus. The bus will be in the following locations this week: Myatts Field Pantry, West Norwood Library, St John The Evangelist Church and Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens. View dates and times
