Dear resident,
Today, we’ve launched a consultation on our initial designs for a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) in Streatham Wells.
We are asking for peoples’ feedback on our proposals which would stop through traffic, improve air quality, and encourage more walking, cycling, wheeling, and scooting. Our vision is to transform local streets, so they have more greenery, are more pleasant and are no longer dominated by cars and vans using them as shortcuts.
The changes proposed include:
- Traffic filters to prevent through traffic
- New trees and plants which will reduce flooding and give shade during extreme heat
- Cycle parking
- Space for children to play and people to sit

Over the last year, we have worked with local people and analysed data to inform our designs. We want your feedback on our ideas to make the right improvements, in the right places.
The survey ends on 23 December, 2022.
LTN layout
The LTN would be bordered by the A23 Streatham High Road to the west, the A214 Streatham Common North to the south, and Leigham Court Road to the east and north (see map below). Every street within the LTN will still be accessible by motor vehicle, but traffic filters will prevent through traffic. Blue Badge holders, or their appointed driver, can apply for dispensation to access camera-enforced traffic filters within the LTN.
Thank you,
Lambeth Community Street Design Team
