Warm spaces to help with cost of living pressure

Claire

Hello,

With winter fast approaching, and people having to make impossible choices between heating and eating, we are expanding our cost of living crisis support by opening a network of warm spaces throughout the borough – so that those who might struggle to heat their homes have places they can go to keep warm.

The warm spaces at all Lambeth libraries, Oasis Waterloo, West London Mission in Kennington, Clapham Park Estate and Ashmole Community Hall are helping to support people through these difficult times. We are also working with local community groups to help them open warm spaces.

The government’s continued failure to tackle the cost of living crisis means that warm spaces are needed, but I am proud that once again Lambeth is coming together to plug the gaps and make sure everyone in our community is looked after.

You can find out more about our warm spaces and other support on our website

Councillor Claire Holland, Lambeth Council Leader

Fourteen warm spaces have already opened, including all our Libraries, with more to come.
