World Menopause Day - Tuesday
Today is World Menopause Day and we are marking the day by inviting colleagues to share their experience of the menopause. Find out how symptoms can take their toll at work and how you can help colleagues! Plus join our menopause workshop on 2 November.
Ofsted will be at Lambeth next week
Ofsted inspectors will be on-site at the Civic Centre for two weeks from Monday 24 October. Inspectors will have a dedicated room on third floor of the Civic Centre. During the inspection, some meeting rooms will be unavailable and colleagues in Children’s Services will be prioritising supporting and responding to the inspection – please be mindful of this as you move around the building and engage with the services.
Accessing the Lambeth network
Direct Access is the way our staff connect automatically with the Lambeth network to do their work. In the rare event that Direct Access goes down, we want to make sure you can continue your work uninterrupted. Cisco AnyConnect is another way that you can access the Lambeth network and major applications on it. Connecting to Cisco AnyConnect is a quick and easy 2-step process. Flu jabs for staff
Some staff are eligible for free flu vaccination under the NHS criteria. This includes staff who are over 65 years of age, pregnant, those living with a long-term medical condition, main carers of an older or disabled person or close contacts of immunocompromised individuals. See if you qualify.

Important changes to how we store your mail
Retention periods for both physical hard copies and digital post will be reduced in line with requirements under the data minimalisation principle. You have one month to request hard copies and two months to save and move your digital copies to your systems. More information.
Learn: Recognising the signs of mental distress in others
Lambeth Council have been working with South London and Maudsley NHS Trust to bring you an online three hours workshop open to anyone who might be interested in improving their knowledge of how to recognise the signs of mental distress in others, becoming more confident in approaching the topic with people and directing them to the appropriate support. Dates: 28 October, and 15 November. Sign up.
National Customer Services Week roundup
If you missed the lunch and learns for customer service week, you can now access recordings and information on their SharePoint site. You can also view a summary of what happened in terms of engagement across the council, from stats to how many joined the various sessions to those nominated for going the extra mile for customers.
Free parent and carers’ vaccination webinar
Join one of two free online webinars to hear more about why vaccinations are being provided by the NHS to children this winter. Expert clinicians including doctors from one of the country’s top children’s hospitals will explain more about polio, flu and MMR, and answer your questions.
