 Coram Beanstalk Trained Reading Helper
Coram Beanstalk creates readers because when a child becomes a reader, they get the very best chance in life, and every child deserves that!
Coram Beanstalk believes that life is better when everyone can read well and express themselves with confidence. That's why they recruit, train and support volunteers to work with primary aged children to help them find a love of reading.
Coram's volunteers work one-to-one with children who would benefit from dedicated time with an adult who can help them with their reading and communication skills. If you choose to volunteer as a Trained Reading Helper, You will be working in a local primary school two afternoons a week.
Coram Beanstalk provides training and support throughout your role as a volunteer.

 Platinum Party at the Camberwell Arts Festival
The Camberwell Arts Festival is back in its 28th year and launching with a Platinum Street Party on Camberwell Green - and before you ask - yes - there is plenty taking place within the borders of the fine borough of Lambeth!
A big communal feast, epic dog show, mammoth 70-stall arts market, free kids activities, arts workshops, music stages and a bumper farmer's market are all combining into a major street-party style celebration on 4th June 2022.

Walking Volunteer for Visually Impaired People (VIP)
Travel Hands is a service that pairs Visually Impaired People (VIP) with verified & sighted volunteers to walk together towards their similar destinations. With Travel Hands, VIP's can travel around London in a safe, cheap, and independent manner.
TfL currently offers VIP's Freedom Passes to travel for free and has a system in place where blind people can ask for on-platform assistance. But even walking to the bus stop or to the tube station is tough. Even for the shortest of distances, a VIP has to face the hassle of booking a taxi when making an unaccompanied journey.
This is where Travel Hands comes in. You, as a volunteer, will be required to help VIP navigate through roads safely whilst having interesting conversations, building friendships, or simply breathing fresh air.

 Helpers Needed at Brixton Rec Food Hub
Healthy Living Platform is a Charity offering activities that benefit the health and well-being of the community.
To help families during COVID-19, Healthy Living Platform set up an emergency food hub inside Brixton Rec which arranges for surplus food to be distributed to local community centres.
Volunteers are needed to help inside the hub, packing and moving crates of food and unloading/loading delivery vans.
There are short morning and afternoon shifts available for the whole of May - three hours in the morning, two in the afternoon - can you help?
