Rathbone Society Inspiring Learning Project - Learning Mentors
Rathbone's Inspiring Learning Project works with disadvantaged young people who are struggling at school and need extra support with their learning.
They are looking for volunteers who can commit an hour a week for at least six months to help a student "between Y7 and Y11" with their homework and/or revision in one subject, for example, English (many students come from households where English is not the first language), Maths, History or Science. Study support sessions are online, with a parent or guardian on-site with the child, usually outside school hours.
The current pandemic has put additional pressure on the lives and education of young people. If you could spare an hour a week to help a child keep up with their learning, Rathbone Youth Centre would like to hear from you.

Westbury's Chemist on Streatham High Road is continuing to vaccinate Lambeth residents for Covid-19, now giving booster jabs as well as first and second shots. They’re hoping to cover three four-hour shifts every day, including weekends. Volunteers will help to ensure the safe flow of people being vaccinated, from the time they arrive to the time they leave - checking patients are on the appointment list, checking temperatures, preparing them for the vaccination room, and making sure that patients leave safely with their vaccination cards. Shifts will be 8am-12pm, 12pm-4pm and 4pm-8pm every day, including weekends. PPE will be provided. Social distancing will be managed.
