November Library Events 2021

Sarah Ozo-Irabor

Literary critic Sarah Ozo-Irabor joins library panel on Decolonising your bookshelf

Library Services from November

We know many of you will be pleased to hear that it is now no longer necessary to make appointments to come and borrow books or study in the library. However, please do continue to wear masks if you are able, follow social distancing measures and use the hand sanitiser.

Many events and activities have also restarted in our libraries. We are using CO2 monitors to check that the air quality is good and also reducing the numbers allowed in rooms by 50% to help keep you all safe. We understand some of you may not wish to attend events in person and so we are streaming many of them so you can continue to take part from the comfort of your home.

Wriggle and Rhymes and school class visits are being held before 11am, which is when our libraries open up for all members. If you wish to attend, please contact your library for details as days for many sessions have changed.

Do have a look at our library catalogue and membership webpages which have had a makeover. There are more book suggestions to browse so you can see new titles and recommendations, you can suggest books for us to buy that are not in stock, pay any charges on your membership online, watch recordings of some of the events we have held, find your library’s opening hours and if you loved a book you borrowed you can even buy a new copy using the link to the Bookshop.org website, which supports local independent bookshops. These are our first steps in improving these pages and we will be developing them further in the coming weeks. Any feedback on how you are finding the website would be much appreciated, so do let us know by emailing libraries@lambeth.gov.uk
