Accessing Library services during May

open-to-discovery

Lambeth Libraries and the roadmap out of lockdown

Covid Libraries May 2021

From Monday 17 May the government Roadmap out of lockdown Step 3 comes into effect and library services across Lambeth continue our gradual opening up.

Browsing by appointment:
From Monday Brixton, Carnegie, Clapham, Minet, Upper Norwood and West Norwood libraries will be providing browsing by appointment. On 24 May Waterloo Library will join them. As soon as safely possible all other Lambeth libraries will open for browsing by appointment. Streatham Library is now open for 'Select and Collect' Monday to Wednesday and Saturday 11am-4pm. On Thursday and Friday a lateral flow test centre operates from the building. We expect to offer more library services from Streatham from 31 May.

PC booking, study space and 'Select and Collect' are all available by appointment. If you know anyone who still can’t get out and would like some books, do put them in touch with us and we will arrange to visit them at home.

Other changes regarding groups meeting in libraries are beginning to change and these will be re-introduced library by library as is safe to do so. Do check your local library for advice. For now we will continue our online activities but gradually real life groups will start to return to your library.

You can book an appointment to use a PC, to print, photocopy/scan, browse, or study just call or email your local branch during opening hours and, as always, we'll be happy to help. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us at libraries@lambeth.gov.uk.

Our plethora of free online resources is still available for you to enjoy so happy reading / listening / watching / learning!

Library Hygiene Bank

Hygiene Bank

Lambeth Libraries are now working in partnership with the Hygiene Bank charity to accept donations of products for those experiencing hygiene poverty.  Donation boxes for Hygiene products have now been delivered to Brixton, West Norwood, Streatham, Durning, South Lambeth and Clapham libraries. Now, we’re looking for your donations - soap, shower gel, sanitary products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving foam, nappies, wipes, toilet paper, washing powder, body lotion, shampoo etc. We must emphasise that these MUST be unused and unopened for health reasons.

To find our drop-off points and opening times for clean, new, unopened hygiene projects wherever you are in the borough see the Lambeth Libraries map.
