Jean Haley

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Haley MBE. Jean was born and raised in Lambeth spending most of her adult years living on the Central Hill Estate. Jean was an outstanding community champion representing residents for over 30 years.  Her portfolio included chairing the Central Hill Estate TRA and Norwood Area Housing Forum.

Jean’s legendary forthright style blended with fairness and transparency. Jean was highly respected by officers, councillors and residents alike. Jean was awarded an MBE for her services in 2007. She retired in 2016 and lived the remainder of her years in sheltered accommodation. Jean will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her

Zoom Ahead

Zoom meeting

Following the success of the pilot Zoom meeting organised by the Palace Road Estate, a number of TRA’s have followed suit.

The Deronda Estate have set up a residents meeting on 29 October 2020 aimed at restarting the TRA after a gap of 15 months. The meeting will also be an opportunity to get to know Lavender Hope who are based at the community hall.

The Central Hill Estate will be holding their AGM online on 12 November 2020 a number of residents have already expressed an interest in joining the conversation.

The Zoom meetings are very easy to set up and an excellent way of engaging with the community at these times. Please speak to your RPO if you need  assistance

Community Hall update

Generally our community halls remained closed, but activities that have a community benefit can continue where latest Covid-19 guidelines are followed and risk assessments have been carried out for the proposed activities. However, if London changes to Tier 3 in the future then use of the halls will need to be reviewed.

Please see  poster for information, if you would like copies for your hall or if you have any further questions regarding re-opening your hall, please contact your resident paticipation office.
