Connected Kerb are the appointed contractor who will be carrying out this work.
There will be two allocated bays which will be for the charging of electrical vehicles only. The EVC will be attached to a post with signage stating that the bay is for electrical vehicle charging only. There will also be information explaining how to use the charge point.
You will need to apply for a permit to use the bay.
The Council is committed to improving air quality in Lambeth and reducing emissions caused by climate change which produce about two thirds less carbon emissions per mile than internal combustion engine vehicles (ICE). Also, unlike internal combustion engines, electrical vehicles do not produce any tailpipe emissions, which affect local air quality.
Furthermore, from 2021 the Ultra Low Emissions Zone will be expanded to cover the whole of Lambeth which will make it more expensive to own a car with an internal combustion engine. The installation of EVCs will give you the option to upgrade your vehicle to a fully electric car.
To encourage electrical vehicle ownership the Council has made a commitment to ensuring all households, with no access to on street parking, are provided within a five-minute walk of an EVC charging point.
Your estate is one of the first to be provided with an electrical vehicle charging point.
Your ward councillors have been consulted about this project.
