Meet Alex
Fostering during lockdown comes with unique challenges. Despite this, local heroes such as Alex are welcoming vulnerable children into their homes.
A relatively new foster carer, Alex recently welcomed a 13-year-old girl into her home after becoming estranged from her parents as a result of COVID-19.
Meet Sarah
Sarah recently applied to become a foster carer for the first time. Her profession involves working for the council, identifying placements for young people in care. She understands first-hand the challenges faced by childrenās services in finding safe, loving homes for children in need.
Meet Laura
Laura, a Senior Social Worker by profession, became a foster carer around ten years ago to provide warmth and security for young boys aged over 11 years. She took a break from caring to focus on her career and family, but the recent coronavirus crisis triggered her desire to start this up again.
