Welcome to the second edition of the Lambeth Together newsletter. Lambeth Together is our ambitious plan to make services better and easier to access for everyone who lives or works in the borough. It will help our population achieve better wellbeing for decades to come by people and services working together.
Below we have a round-up of news from across the Lambeth Together partnership – including updates from our delivery alliances of mental health, adult health and care, and children’s services – which includes NHS organisations, Lambeth Council, voluntary organisations and others.

Thursday 5 December saw the exciting launch of new mental health services for working age adults in Lambeth.
The event launched three new Living Well Centres, which are at the heart of the new services. These centres bring together clinical staff, social workers and support workers from the voluntary sector, many with lived experience. These joined up teams provide better support for a wide range of needs and reduce the large number of assessments that people may have experienced in the past.

The Lambeth Neighbourhood and Wellbeing Delivery Alliance is a partnership of local NHS organisations, community organisations, GPs, and Lambeth Council.
Through working together better, we want to improve peoples health, keep people well, promote wellbeing and reduce the barriers to access services and support that some people experience. Together we want people to have the best health outcomes possible in Lambeth and make sure services are seamless, coordinated and person centred for those that really need it.

A key part of Lambeth Together is the Children and Young People Alliance. One of the programmes here is Lambeth Made, aimed at making Lambeth one of the best places to grow up, which has recently been tackling the issue of serious youth violence.
We are working hard with our local community around the issue of serious youth violence. We shared a 'Keeping Safe' survey, which invited young people to share their views. 560 ten to twenty-five year olds from all backgrounds offered their views of the protective and risk factors related to housing, education, street safety, family, friends and health.

Lambeth Together partners across health and care services, hosted the Takeover Challenge on 22 November. The day saw local pupils shadow mentors in their jobs for the day. The day, for Year 10s, also featured an afternoon debate focused on climate change and the environment where the young people expressed their views on the action they want to be taken.
Fifty young people took part in the shadowing to find out about working life in health and social care. They shadowed different council staff and councillors, including the Head of Communications to learn about how the council engages with residents. Other students undertook placements at Guy’s and St Thomas’ where 10 students got the chance to extract the DNA from a strawberry.

Healthwatch Lambeth is developing a new way of involving people in their own healthcare; this is called their ‘position on participation’. Healthwatch Lambeth seeks to involve local people in their healthcare; to make sure that patients voices and views are taken into account when health and care services are designed and brought into use.
You can read here about this work and how you can get involved.
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) are recruiting a number of patients and carers to join a new Equality Panel. They want to involve 6-10 local residents from Lambeth and Southwark in assessing and improving their services as members of the Equality Panel. They are particularly keen to involve people who have experience of any of the characteristics that are protected by equalities legislation and policies.
