Happy new year to all our TRAs

Reminder - Annual Residents Assembly Saturday 19 Jan 2019

138 residents have registered so far for the annual Residents Assembly being held in the Assembly Hall at the Town Hall from 10am to 2.30pm on 19 January.

The main agenda items will be:

  • Update on fire safety works.
  • Resident Engagement review.
  • Major works workshop.
  • Communal repairs workshop.

There are still some places available if you wish to attend but haven’t registered yet but you’ll need to do this as soon as possible. We won’t be able to accept people just turning up on the day if they haven’t registered as we are near to capacity. All you have to do is email residentsassembly@lambeth.gov.uk with your name and address.

kids xmas

Hats off to all our TRAs who organised activities around the Christmas period. We are sure they were very much appreciated by residents as they were at the Mursell Estate TRA’s Xmas Party last year, local volunteers provided music and carols for the annual festive bash.

Getting involved grants

GI1

Grants remain available to any TRA who wants to provide activities for their community. Since April 2018, 46 grants have been provided to 24 TRAs to organise activities for residents. These ranged from children’s summer programmes to cultural fundays. One of the biggest was Myatts Field South TRA’s summer festival featuring Mr Mojo (picture above). The activities must provide some educational, cultural or wellbeing outcomes for residents but your Resident Participation Officer (RPO) will always be able to help ensure these outcomes can be met.

Contact gettinginvolved@lambeth.gov.uk for more information on Getting Involved grants or visit the getting involved page for guidance and an application form.

bulb planting

Bulb planting

A number of our TRAs teamed up with our food growing partner, Urban Growth, to do some re-bulbing and wildflower planting in particularly bare areas on their estates recently. Fenwick Estate TRA was one of those and the photo shows how their younger residents helped on the day! Urban Growth will be doing some spring planting with residents for those TRAs they couldn’t fit in before Christmas. If you are interested in brightening up your community with professional help let us know at gettinginvolved@lambeth.gov.uk or mention it to your housing officer as part of your estate action plan.
