What We're Loving This Summer

Looking for a great read this summer? Our young readers have been borrowing some fantastic books, and a few favourites have really stood out.

Some of our most borrowed books include There's a Wolf in Your Book, Dog Man, Bunny vs Monkey and Percy Jackson. Football fans are also loving Bellingham Rules and The Football Encyclopedia, while fact lovers can't get enough of Gross FACTopia!

Survey for Parents and Carers

Could you help with a library research project?

Libraries Rising and BookTrust are looking for parents and carers of children aged 0–5 to share their experiences of using public libraries.

The research will help show how libraries support young children and families in the early years. Participants will be invited to take part in a 45-minute interview by phone or online and will receive a £40 voucher as a thank you.

Our Opening Times, Social Stories and Virtual Tours

The addresses and opening times of all our libraries can be found on our website at: Locations and opening times | Kirklees Council

We also have Social Stories for each library, which let you have a visual tour of the different buildings before visiting. These Social Stories are ideal for people with Autism or Anxiety and can be found in the opening times section for each library, under the "We are going to..." heading at the top.

Some of our libraries now have Virtual Tours too - why not have a virtual trip to the gorgeous Cleckheaton Library if you can't visit in person? Find them under the opening times on the website.
