Living Knowledge Network exhibition
The Living Knowledge Network is a partnership between public and national libraries in the UK, created by the British Library. Together we celebrate libraries and create memorable experiences. This programme includes panel exhibitions which feature printed content from larger scale exhibitions at the British Library in London.

Our upcoming exhibition Beyond the Bassline (26 April – 26 August 2024) shines a spotlight on different voices and perspectives to celebrate Black British music as a form of entertainment and vehicle for community, as well as a source of liberation, protest and education.
Stepping into carnivals, clubs and record shops across the country, Beyond the Bassline draws on different places that have cultivated creative expression and inspired a number of Black British music genres.
We'd love to create as much local content as possible for this exhibition, so if you have any memories, photographs, or tunes from the carnivals, clubs and communities that played such a unique role in creating the Sound System culture then please, please get in touch with us at READ@kirklees.gov.uk
