 Reading Well for children provides quality-assured information, stories and advice to support children’s mental health and wellbeing. Books have been chosen and recommended by leading health professionals, co-produced with children and families and brought together by The Reading Agency.
The books are available to borrow from your local library or can be downloaded as e-books and audiobooks (free with your library card) on Libby.

 Jamila Gavin, author of Coram Boy and Never Forget You, was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the J.M. Barrie Awards.
Gavin's very first book, The Magic Tree and other stories, was published in 1979. Since then, she has gone on to pen several modern classics, including The Wheel of Surya, recently republished to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, and Coram Boy, the winner of the Whitbread Children's Book Award 2000. Jamila's latest novel, Never Forget You, has received critical acclaim and was recently named The Times' Children's Book of the Year.

The winner of the "I Can Do Anything" colouring book by Salma Zaman and Thom Craigen is Muhammad Ameen Patel, age 4. Muhammad Ameen says he wants to be a fireman when he grows up. We love his speedy fire engine!

With a programme of exciting events, brand new activities for home, school and libraries and a fantastic line-up of £1 books, World Book Day 2023 is shaping up to be the best ever!
Many children will be getting excited about wearing something other than school uniform for World Book Day. But some local schools are encouraging their students not to wear fancy dress, but onesies or pyjamas instead. They say that this is to help their students focus on the main point of the day - books!
