 You Are A Reader!
To celebrate 25 years of World Book Day (Thursday 3rd March) we want to help get the message out that You Are A Reader! Everyone can be a reader, whether you are tucking into a Harry Potter book thicker than your leg, or just starting your reading journey, one word at a time- we have books for you in our libraries. Never let a lack of reading confidence spoil your enjoyment of books and stories...we have audio books to listen to and share as a family or why not borrow a book with no words and "read" the pictures to tell the story you want?
 Your Turn!
We would LOVE you to send in your book reviews- (words/pictures or both) so we can share them and inspire other readers!!!! The fabulous World Book Day folk have put together an amazing list of titles, all divided up into handy themed sections to help you choose something new to fit your reading tastes. You can simply click this World Book Day Reading Recommendations link then hop over to our Kirklees Library catalogue and see if we have a copy (it might be an EBook or a physical book). There are loads of ways that you can get in touch to share your book review, you can tag us on Facebook, Twitter or Insta or email us: lal@kirklees.gov.uk
Celebrating Diversity and World Book Day
Both Libraries and the good people at World Book Day want to change lives through a love of reading and promote reading for pleasure, so what better way than to get stuck into a new book? Maybe be daring and pick one that you think you'd never normally choose in a million years! What's the worst that can happen?! That's the beauty of Libraries...you borrow a good book...give it your best shot but if it's not for you...simply return it and try another...who knows, maybe you'll discover you are a closet sci-fi fan, or that you love romantic books...not a dinosaur lover...? Have you ever read a book about them...go on try something new! It's free and it's fun! Our themed World Book Collection is a great place to start.
