 As world leaders gather in Glasgow for the COP 26 conference, you’re invited to take part in a COP 26 Regional Roadshow. A climate webinar will be hosted on Kirklees Council’s YouTube channel on the evening of 11th November. It’s a chance to find out more about the Kirklees Climate Commission and to hear from leading advocates for action to tackle carbon emissions in Kirklees.  Climate Voices are a small group of local people helping anyone in Kirklees to get involved in shaping decisions and action on climate change. They are looking for local groups to get involved in one of two Climate Voices events in November. These events are part of the Global Assembly, which is an opportunity for communities all over the world to help make fair and effective action on climate change a reality.  Do you want to help make sure that Kirklees Council’s decision making is transparent, accountable and open? Could you bring a different perspective to discussions, using your own knowledge and skills? If so, you may be interested in becoming a voluntary co-optee, working with our Scrutiny team.
The closing date for applications is 10th December 2021.
 Community and voluntary groups anywhere in Kirklees can apply for up to £2,000 from TSL Kirklees, to be used on projects to support vulnerable households. This can include food voucher schemes, or support with energy bills for domestic heating, cooking, lighting or water. The funding can also be used to support essentials linked to energy and water, including sanitary products, warm clothing, soap, blankets, boiler service repair and even purchase or repair of white goods, like fridges, freezers, ovens and washing machines.
 We know that many community buildings in local places across Kirklees have made some significant changes to what they do over the past 18 months. Third Sector Leaders Kirklees want to hear from people who own or run community buildings, so that they can work out how best to support you. They can also help you to promote your community spaces and community activities. Take part in this short survey to say what’s useful for your organisation.
 Kirklees Council's Council Plan for 2021 to 2023 sets out ambitions for all our local places. Before the council’s budget for next year is set, Kirklees Council want to make sure that the priorities in the Council Plan match what matters most to you.
Anyone aged 16+ who lives in Kirklees is invited to complete the CLiK (Current Living in Kirklees) survey. By taking part, you’ll be helping to make sure that public health and health & social care services are targeted where they are needed the most. Once you’ve completed the survey, you can enter a free prize draw for a chance to win £150 of shopping vouchers.
