Birstall Co-ops with Steven Walker

Thursday April 22

Kirklees Libraries Youtube at 1.00pm

Join us for this virtual tour of aspects of the history of the Birstall Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd. The Co-op movement was brought to Birstall in 1865 by a group of workers from a local foundry.

Stephen Walker, takes us on a tour from the central stores around some of the main branches operating in the town. A factual history combined with photographs, archive images and anecdotes bring this fascinating subject to life.

This tour will be streamed live on the Kirklees Libraries YouTube channel, Facebook and Twitter pages on Thursday 22nd April at 1pm. Also available on catch-up after the broadcast.
