Active April
Action for Happiness have declared this month 'Active April'. We know that moving our bodies is good for us. Recent studies have even shown that children who spend a lot of time sitting are more likely to become depressed.
Lucky for us, there are so many ways to get active, and all sorts of exercise counts. The easing of lockdown restrictions means that outdoor sports courts can now reopen. If you're still struggling to get moving, then get your motivation back with these tips from KAL.
Let's manage our stress
Stress is something we all feel, at least from time to time. So let's take the time this Stress Awareness month to learn what stress is and find ways to reduce it. Stress can be important in certain situations and can even help us to be more productive, but constant or chronic stress can have a negative impact on our bodies. If stress is taking its toll on you lately, take a look at these ten stress busters from the NHS.
Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer, but it's the second biggest killer. It shouldn’t be, as it’s treatable and curable, especially if diagnosed early.
Symptoms of bowel cancer can include:
Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo | A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit | Unexplained weight loss | Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason | A pain or lump in your tummy.
Being aware of the key symptoms and visiting your GP if things don’t feel right can help increase chances of an early diagnosis, and could save your life.
