Hello – welcome back to ‘Staying Healthy’
We all know the drill, but that doesn't mean it’s easy. Lockdown 2.0 has arrived which means more time at home and less time meeting with family and friends.
Don’t panic, over the next month we're going to help you get through with tasty recipes and plenty of activities to keep you sane. If there is anything in particular you’d like to see from us, email communication@kirklees.gov.uk with your suggestions - we'd love to hear from you!
Find out how the new restrictions affect you and your local area on our website.
NHS Fitness Studio
We know it’s cold outside, and it might be cramped inside! But we also know that regular exercise is good for your mind and your body, so let’s get up off the sofa and start moving! The NHS Fitness Studio is a great way to launch into a new hobby or kick-start an old one. Choose from 24 instructor-led videos and find something that suits you!
Mental wellbeing through lockdown
Get ahead of lockdown anxieties with help from Every Mind Matters. Take time to understand your mind and body and learn how you respond to situations or challenges. We all react differently and that’s okay! But by understanding ourselves we can find the right tools to help us cope better with difficult times.
Why get the flu vaccine?
Each year a free flu vaccination is offered to those who are at an increased risk from the effects of the flu virus. This includes people aged 65 and over, pregnant women and those with long term health conditions. Help protect yourself and your family with the flu vaccine - find out if you're eligible for a free vaccine and where to get it on the NHS website.
Lockdown food projects
Did you miss these lockdown projects the first time round? Try your hand at a few simple and tasty recipes and add a few new chef skills to your repertoire. It’s important that we all have a way to relax and wind-down, for some people that’s creating delicious meals or growing food. Find new ways to focus your mind with BBC Good Food’s foodie projects!
Wishing you the best of health,
Stay safe and be kind,
Your friends at Kirklees Council
